IHMD has been successfully held for seven sessions since its inception in 2020. So far, it has attracted a total of 2,500 upstream and downstream companies in the high-end medical device industry chain, of which 207 companies have sponsored and supported the event. A total of 266 C-level executives in the field of implantable and interventional medical devices, covering key areas such as R&D, quality, process, production, and registration, were invited to deliver keynote speeches. Over 55% of the audiences came from the downstream industry chain for all previous events.

With the rapid advancement of Neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have emerged as a strategic priority in global technological competition. Additionally, policy support in recent years has driven continued breakthroughs in R&D and market deployment, offering new possibilities for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of neurological disorders. However, invasive BCIs continue to encounter major challenges in terms of technology readiness, clinical validation, safety, ethics, and routes to industrialization.

The 2nd Forum on Innovation and Industrialization of Medical Devices in Brain Science (IHMD 2026) is designed to gather leading scientists, clinicians, industry executives, and policymakers to explore the latest advancements, clinical breakthroughs, and commercialization opportunities in "invasive and interventional BCI technologies". Its mission is to accelerate the translation of BCI from bench to bedside, and ultimately into industrial-scale application, providing tangible benefits to patients with neurological conditions.
